Colonial Great White Shark Tooth Brooch

Description: This is a fantastic and rare item of New Zealand early-Colonial jewellery.  The tooth of a Great White Shark is set in 15ct yellow gold.  The detailed engravings on the gold, contrasted with the natural patina of the tooth, enhance the eye catching nature and visual depth of the broach.  The large size of the tooth means that this would have come from one similarly large shark.
